CONTACT REFLEX ANALYSIS (CRA)
Introduction
Contact Reflex Analysis is a chiropractic technique which tests the bioelectrical and muscular reflexes of your body. It is based on the connection of certain points of the body to other bodily systems and can be used to explore what’s going wrong internally.
CRA has some similarities to acupuncture. Acupuncture and acupressure work with pressure points throughout the body. Each pressure point is important to the energy flow throughout the body, and are places where that flow can be blocked by dysfunction.
How it Works
CRA does not diagnose by itself. Rather, you should think of CRA as a series of questions. The practitioner contacts each of the reflex points on the body while pressing down on the wrist of the patient’s outstretched arm. The downward press is the question, and the way the body responds at the reflex point is the answer.
Different reflex points connect with different internal systems. For example, the bottom part of the neck is where the heart reflex is checked, while the area just above the right breast checks the metabolism’s reflexes.
CRA, therefore, can allow exploring a wide range of possible dysfunctions in the body, including those subject to chiropractic treatment.
Treatment Plan
CRA practitioners generally will work with the patient to create a personal health improvement plan. This plan will focus on diet and utilize natural vitamins sources as well as nutritional supplements. In some cases, other chiropractic techniques, including spinal or joint adjustment, may be indicated.
Practitioners in this area avoid pharmaceutical drugs. The practice is based on the connection between the body’s natural energy flow and its ability to use natural items to heal itself.
Benefits of CRA
Contact Reflex Analysis allows the exploration of many minor internal issues which have not yet emerged as major concerns. While it does not diagnose issues, it does allow the discovery of sub-clinical issues.
CRA can also discover unknown skeletomuscular issues, including tight muscles, misaligned vertebrae, or unknown subluxation. Your chiropractor can treat these.
Internal imbalances and nutritional issues may also emerge through CRA. Your practitioner may discover diabetic tendencies, for example. Liver issues can also be diagnosed through CRA.
CRA is also more economically practical. No lab tests are required, saving money and time. It allows one health care practitioner to coordinate and focus your care precisely on what needs to be done.
Also, the emphasis on nutrition and diet makes the process of healing easier. Your practitioner will provide you with the natural, whole foods and supplements to help you solve the problem. They’ll focus on the foods which target your specific issues and include you as a partner in your health care.
